How to Add Fonts to Your IPad to Use in Design Space
This post has been updated for 2019! You can find the updated version here. Grab your cheat sheet to keep as a handy reference while you are there.
I love to use my Design Space app to work on projects while "watching" tv with my husband in the evenings. One of the drawbacks is that the iPad (or IPhone) has very few system fonts that are good for die cutting. They are just your everyday plain Jane fonts. So...if you want to design with the font favorites like Samantha or Magnolia Sky, you have to find a way to add fonts to your iPad. Lucky for us, there's an app for that!

Install the AnyFont App
The AnyFont app is available in the ITunes Store for $1.99. Soooooo worth it. Purchase and open it and then we are ready to go!
Find and Download your Font
I mainly use DaFont.com for my fonts. There are tons of free ones and to be honest, you will waste an enormous amount of time browsing all the different ones. My favorite to browse is the "script" category and the "curly" section of the "Fancy" category.
In this example I am going to install "Sweet Pea". Click the download button to the right of the font.
Open and Copy the Font
Once you have clicked "download", a screen should appear that shows the name of the font as a zip file. Select "open in" and a screen will pop up giving you options. Select the AnyFont icon.
Install the Font
The font you downloaded will show up in the list. Click on it and a pop up will appear. Click on the icon to begin to installing the font.
Complete Installation
A series of pop ups will appear. Select install, then next, then install and install again.
Open the Cricut Design Space App
Open the Cricut Design Space app and add text. Click on system fonts and the font you downloaded should be available to use. If they are not, make sure to log out of Cricut Design Space and then log in again.
Repeat over and over until your husband wonders what the heck you are doing on your iPad so long. So many fonts...so little time. *wink*
